Moving to Blyth

Blyth is a coastal town in Northumberland. Serviced by the A193 (off the A189), Blyth sits of Northumbria's coast between Whitley Bay and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.

The local authority, (Blyth Valley Borough Council) was formed, in 1974 from Borough of Blyth, Seaton Valley Urban District Council and part of Whitley Bay Borough Council.

Throughout history Blyth has been active in shipbuilding, coal export and fishing, among other industries. The Port of Blyth still handles over 1.5 million tonnes of bulk and container cargo per year.
