Sunderland is a busy city in the North East of England, with excellent visitor attractions, sports facilities and entertainment venues. The Sunderland Empire Theatre and Sunderland Aquatic Centre attract visitors from all over Europe.

Sunderland University was established in 1901 and was one of only eight universities to receive 'A' rating from Ofsted for its secondary education provision, in 2007/2008.
